Welcome
Olie Fisher Radio Started in 1998 with very basic crude equipment, mostly homemade!!

The above picture was taken in about 2003 and shows the studio as it was going through some development, introduction of computers etc. Before then everything was played of vinyl records and CDs. The shows were recorded on either cassettes or reel-reel tapes.
Now 9 years on Olie Fisher Radio is broadcasting to the world on the internet 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Click on Listen to tune into Olie Fisher Radio.

Off the Air! - 25/06/2009

We are Back! - 09/03/2009
We are back once again, after what seemed like an eternity. We were Off Air for over 12 hours. Olie Fisher Radio is having major problems with its back bone network, which is causing some unreliabilty! If you bare with us we will stick around as long as physicaly possible. But I feel serious investment is required in our backbone infrastructure. However until the finance is raised to majorly upgrade our infrastructure its just a question of doing what ever is required! Happy Listening!, Glad to be Back!
Major works appologies for any down time! - 08/03/2009
After last weeks problems in the studio, I have been trying to find a soloution into getting a dedicated BCX pc back up and running. In the end we are back on air using our original BCX pc from 2005! After replacing 5 Capicitors on the Motherboard and fixing up the powersupply, its back up and running. And with any luck should be super reliable, as it managed 4 years non stop before needing work! Just a question of keeping everything running now!
Major works in the studio this weekend! - 01/03/2009
This weekend we have had a new 'overnight operations rack' installed in the studio. Basically this is a self contained rack that will supply the overnight automation. This means overnight the main BCX pc and Gates mixer can be switched off every night which saves precious power and heat in the studio! Pictures coming soon to the gallery!
Olie Fisher Radio is back once again! - 18/02/2009
In the early hours of 18th Feb 2009 Olie Fisher Radio studio's got hit by a massive power surge, this caused havoc with lots of vital equipment! For over half an hour I was running around the studio trying to figure out why the UPS was running at full tilt. I eventually traced the fault to a couple of fuses, one on mains into the studio, and one on the UPS power cord itself! Then the true extent of the failure sunk in! The BCX machine was completely dead no life in it whatsoever. The only option I had was to put my desktop in its place and use the few working parts from the dead BCX machine to get it up to speed for running Music non stop! We were back on air after 6 long hours off air! However I noticed the power surge has killed some of the backlights on the audio compressor, although this doesnt affect the audio it is certianly annoying! For now im left with only 2 computers in the studio, the fewest since Olie Fisher Radio began online way back in 2004! But atleast Olie Fisher Radio is back! and certainly sounding fine on our newly constructed vintage styled homebrew mixer!

The Mixer is almost completely funtional, after a full weekend of rigging! Additional functions will be added as time goes on. Pictures will be posted soon! Now we finally have a reliable mixer we should be back for good!

Heavy snow brought chaos today! - but as allways one thing stays strong - Olie Fisher Radio remains!
New Mixer soon to be comeing to Olie Fisher Radio! - 22/01/2009
A new mixer for Olie Fisher Radio is well underway in the production stages. The new desk will be styled on the Gates Studioette, a mixer produced in the late 50's. We hope to have the new desk on air for late March/early April. The new desk will replace our currently failing Behringer desk which has given 8 years good service. Stay tuned for updates on the project status!
Olie Fisher Radio grating its way into 2009 - 12/01/2009
Ever since the New Year the BCX machine has been struggling along supplying you the Music! The fault appears to be in the power supply, making a terrific noise! However due to time constriants I wont be able to look into the fault till mid week. I only hope the BCX machine is capable of running for that long with such a handicap.
